Twelve years ago, Michigan passed a law prohibiting mandatory union membership in unionized shops. Ultimately, it allowed workers to choose whether to join and pay dues to a labor union or opt out of union membership and dues altogether.
In February, Michigan’s Right To Work policy ended after the law was repealed in a partisan vote.
What is the legacy of Michigan’s Right To Work experience? What has the repeal meant for rank-and-file employees, and what can other states learn from the Michigan story?
Those will be the topics of conversation at this roundtable, hosted by InsideSources Managing Editor Michael Graham, and featuring:
· Terry Bowman (Ford Motor Company, UAW Worker)
· Steve Delie (Mackinac Center for Public Policy)
· Shane Hernandez (ABC-MI)
· Jared Rodriguez (Center for Independent Employees)
